PoP-ART MOVIES of Andy Warhol – Motion Pictures in Rudolfinum

Exibition with title ANDY WARHOL - MOTION PICTURES was opened 29.1. in prague gallery Rudolfinum. You can see twenty B&W silent movies till 5.4.2009.

„Filmy jsou velmi důležitou částí Warholova díla, jsou udělány a viděny z pozice vizuálního umělce, to znamená, že Warhol vychází z estetiky obrazu, nikoli z estetiky kinematografie,“ řekl Právu ředitel galerie Petr Nedoma.

Snímky, jejichž délka se pohybuje od několika minut až po několik hodin, jsou promítány na obřích plochých obrazovkách. Jde o „řez“ z Warholovy filmové tvorby, nechybí kultovní Spánek (1963), který trvá 5:21 minuty, ani slavný Polibek. Vytrvalci si přijdou na své nejdelším filmem výstavy Empire (1964, více než 8 hodin).

Méně vytrvalí mohou sledovat rozpačitého herce Dennise Hoppera, čištění zubů Jane Holzerové nebo Susan Sontagovou, jak si zkouší brýle. Warhol také zachytil zpěváka Lou Reeda nebo malíře Salvadora Dalího.
